Work, Sports and Other Activities

There has been considerable 
controversy over the wearing 
of contact lenses in work 
environments where accidents 
might happen such as from 
flying particles or chemicals.  
Studies have indicated that 
wearing of contact lenses 
under these conditions does 
not constitute an increased risk.  
In many cases contact lenses 
(rigid and soft) have decreased 
the severity of ocular injuries 
in such accidents.  

HOWEVER, CONTACT LENS PATIENTS MUST BE WARNED TO WEAR THE APPROPRIATE EYE PROTECTION AS WOULD AN EMMETROPE!
